Mandatory Fanservice Image to Calm the Nerves Before Blood Pressure Increases

Welcome welcome to another of Futuregamer's rants discussion-topics. While we would all love to face skillful and creative opponents in customs, the sad reality is that that will happen 35% of the time or less. The rest 65% of the time, we will likely be facing one (or many at the same time) of the following categories, and that is a fact we have to accept and immediately quit the duel on.

Your opponent's mental state based on what they are playing and how they act, from the less harmful to the ones demanding late-term abortions:

1. Misguided: Either the designs are flawed in very basic ways or there are no designs to begin with, and while they do nothing terribly offensive, they are still a disappointment to duel against.
2. Basic idiot: They "might" be a bit dumb, or maybe you just caught them in a bad moment, but either way they are a pain in the @ss to deal with.
3. Mentally challenged: Either they are so emotional that they cannot see the flaws in their logic (which makes them unworthy of being talked to) or they are simply too dumb to notice (for me the first possibility is worse than the second).
4. Completely retarded: Positive proof that eugenics was the way to go and we should never have strayed from its path.

Just to be clear, the following will only be judging the people who think they are being serious with their creations. Braindead "unaffected by card effects" and "over 9000" are not even worth mentioning, you can just automatically put them on "completely retarded" if you want.

Does not speak English (yet expects people to know their own language): Basic Idiot

This is not limited to Duelingbook. English is the one global language that people ought to know when they deal with foreigners by choice. If you can't speak proper English, you have no place in English-speaking places, including sites and games. (And just for the record: English is not my native language either, Greek is. I went through the effort of learning English so I wouldn't be a blight on society and most certainly didn't demand foreigners know f@cking Greek at any point in my life.)

Does not run any customs in Customs Tab: Basic Idiot

This is mostly on Xteven since there should be a tag to let us know if the opponent is running no custom cards, same way there is a tag for the opponent having less than 40 cards in their deck, but ffs, why join a CUSTOMS tab to play a TCG Deck? Maybe, just maybe, if someone plays in Customs, THEY WANT TO SEE CUSTOMS.

People with Ojama Green Profile Pic: Mentally Challenged

People of lower intelligence who think they're "trolling" almost always pick this. I have yet to meet a person with Ojama Green pic who I wouldn't classify as a "special needs" person, and I've been in this mess of a community for a few years now. Avoid them like the plague. (PS: People are gonna rush to label me as a bigot because I judge a whole group of people based on their choice of avatar. I want to be clear about this: I'm a bigot for completely unrelated reasons. I also have accumulated plenty of experience over the years and I have studied enough psychology in my life to recognize systemic idiocy when I see it. It is a fact that morons completely talentless at humor will often pick this specific profile pic. They're drawn it like moths to a flame.)

Pot of Greed "meme": Mentally Challenged

They are not mentally challenged just because of the degeneracy (though that's certainly a factor), but because they are copy-pasting jokes. That doesn't work, especially if the joke wasn't funny the first time. For the record same goes to every single person copy-pasting what a person in a youtube video says in the youtube comments below it, with no additional context. Humor is not something that can be second-handed, learn how it works. Almost always used by people with Ojama Green as their profile pic.

Banned cards used: Completely Retarded

Ignoring that this category is quite often combined with the "does not run any customs", these people will think themselves smart for running cards like "Graceful Charity" and "Heavy Storm" (and obviously "Pot of Greed"). Lets be clear: Cards are banned for a reason. You're not smart if you're running them, you're just a disappointment to... Well, everyone.

Metaphys but with none of the skill (Banish-triggered effects): Mentally Challenged

Christ, every f@cking time dumbasses think they're being original, they make "Shiranui", with none of the subtlety or skill involved. "If this card is banished: Do X". Every. F@cking. Time. Spoiler warning: There is a reason that Konami's decks that have effects triggered off banishing are either slow and bricky or have their main boss banned. Let banishing be a cost ffs. 

Everything generates card advantage on its own: Completely Retarded

You know what we're talking about. The monsters will Special Summon themselves from the hand for free and then trigger an add from that very same Special Summon, the Field Spell will add on activation (or, even better, once per turn), the Tuner will trigger a search or a Special from the Deck if it's sent to the GY, and, my personal favorite: The Links 1&2 will Special from the GY when they're Summoned. Easy rule: If the opponent has played 3 custom cards from the start of the duel and all 3 are a +1 on their own, quitting with no explanation is perfectly acceptable. It's lazy design and betrays a lack of critical thinking and self-judgment.

Complete lack of images: Misguided

"No, it's just until I find those perfect images that I have in my head." Just. No. I don't care if they're only placeholder, PUT SOME F@CKING IMAGES ON THEM. It's incredibly annoying to duel against cards that all look the same: A big black box.

Using Images of Existing Cards/Changing the Effects of Existing Cards: Basic Idiot

I don't care if "Meklord Astro Mekanikl" does not have the special win condition and 5 searches you want on him: Don't use the image of an existing card to make your own unbalanced bullsh!t. Some of us actually know what the original cards did, and it is insulting both to the cards and to the players. Find some other images from the net, or just do what every dumbass does and get Vanguard Art, but DON'T USE EXISTING IMAGES OF CARDS.

Strictly better than existing cards: Mentally Challenged

"I mean, sure, each Ghost Girl negates different stuff, but what if I made a card that discards itself when the opponent activates anything and just negates and destroys it? Yeah, poor Konami, why didn't they think of that? Me smart." Also add to that just making archetype versions with copy-pasted card effects of real cards. Want an example? Take Ash blossom's basic text "When a card or effect is activated that includes any of these effects (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; negate that effect.", copy-paste it in the Description Box and see how many results pop-up. Every. Single. Creator. whose name you will see on the bottom left of the cards that pop up from this is ~guaranteed~ a talentless retard.

Vanguard Clan Transfer: Basic Idiot

Honey, if you like Vanguard so much, go play f@cking Vanguard. You. Unimaginative. C@nt.

Massive Texts: Basic Idiot

Quite often pairs with Everything Generates Card Advantage on its Own. This might just be lack of experience, but most of the time it's just some greedy moron who wanted their cards to do everything and who ends up misplaying their own deck because they don't remember what their own cards do. Keep it simple.

Support for things that don't need it: Mentally Challenged

No, Blue-Eyes does not need more searchers. Neither do "Elemental Heroes", "Paleozoics", "Shaddolls", "D/Ds" and definitely not "Madolche". And isn't it amazing how "new support" always translates to searchers and Specials from Deck? If you wanna make support for already existing archetypes, make it for something that actually NEEDS it. Oh, and before I forget: To the imbeciles who make support for "Scraps" and "Aquactresses": THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE IT. They don't have OPT restrictions, making cards that allow you to loop +effects even more than you already can with TCG cards just make you retarded and everyone knows it. Stop it.

Also almost always combined with "Metaphys, but better". The sad thing is, these morons actually think they're being original.
